Quick Merchandising TIPS:
- LOOK FOR firm, well-shaped, uniform size, and even, dark green color.
- DON'T dump cucumbers from cartons/boxes onto display: hand stack or use Farmer’s Best display-ready box. When rotating stock, use FIFO (first in/first out) strategy.
- KEEP AWAY from ethylene-producing items such as bananas, tomatoes etc. to avoid over-ripening, shrink.
- DISPLAY a variety of cucumbers together and educate consumers on difference between field, pickling and other. Also display a mix of bulk vs. packaged, at different price levels.
- CROSS-MERCHANDISE with other salad SKUS such as lettuce, tomato, salad dressings and sauces.
