Quick Merchandising TIPS:

  • LOOK FOR for good, uniform size, color and lack of bruises and pits on the skin.
  • DON'T ice honeydews or watermelons as it can cause pitting and loss of color.  (Cantaloupes can be placed in ice) Don’t dump out boxes: hand stack or use Farmer’s Best display-ready box. When rotating stock, use FIFO (first in/first out) strategy.
  • KEEP AWAY from ethylene-sensitive items such as bananas, tomatoes etc. to avoid over-ripening, shrink.
  • DISPLAY in variety and size groupings that appeal to wide range of customers along with complementary taste and color items such as grapes, berries, and citrus. Also display cut melons with clear wrap to “prove” color and ripeness.
  • CROSS-MERCHANDISE to increase impulse buys, such as “Summertime” and “Picnic!”-themed displays in large bins.
Need other produce?  We also grow and/or ship other popular produce.  Please ask our sales team: Contact our Sales Office at 520-281-1411.
